Interview Questions

1.  What’s one strategy your business used recently that created meaningful growth?

Great question, I would say a strategy that created some exciting growth for Spotter AI was simplifying how we communicate the value of our products. Instead of leading with stuffy technical language, we focused more on the real problems our customers face every day, like dispatching, compliance, hiring, driver communication, fuel costs and workflow efficiency. That helped carriers and logistics teams understand faster how our tools could actually make their operations easier.

2.  How has AI or technology changed the way you operate or serve clients?

AI and modern technology have been everything for our company, helping us serve clients in a much more practical and proactive way. With tools like Spotter TMS and Sentinel, we help transportation companies manage operations, safety, compliance and driver-related workflows more efficiently. Even small improvements, like reducing manual steps or making info easier to access, can make a huge difference in such a fast-moving industry. We are utilizing AI in the best way possible: making life easier for our clients while helping them become more profitable, efficient and safe on the road and with industry-mandated compliance.

3.  What’s one thing you stopped doing that actually helped your business grow?

One thing we stopped doing was trying to explain everything all at once. A growing company with a lot of ideas can become an overwhelming brand very quickly. In the beginning, it can be tempting to talk about every feature, every tool and every benefit, but that can overwhelm people. We are not trying to be everything to everyone here. We learned to focus on the clearest pain point first, then build the conversation from there. That made our marketing stronger and helped customers connect with the message faster.

4.  What’s a customer insight you discovered that changed the way you do business?

A big customer insight was realizing that many carriers do not just want better software or just an all in one platform, they actually want less confusion and quicker solutions without as many errors. They want tools that fit into their day without adding that extra work. That changed the way we talk about Spotter AI because we started focusing even more on ease of use, practical benefits and how our products support the people actually running the operation.

5. If a business had to improve ONE area to grow faster in the next 90 days, what should it be?

I would say clarity. Whether it is sales, marketing, operations or customer service, businesses grow faster when they are clear about who they serve, what problem they solve and why it matters. You can have a great product, but if people do not quickly understand the value, you are making growth harder than it needs to be.

6.  What’s one thing you do consistently that keeps your pipeline healthy?

Consistency with client outreach and communication is a big one, whether that means current client relationships or marketing to prospects. Whether it is Content, outreach, follow-up or customer communication, staying visible and staying in touch matters. These days, it is easy to become an afterthought, but it is also easy to be overwhelming, so there is definitely a balance. For Spotter AI, it is important that we continue educating the market, sharing useful information and making sure people understand how our tools can help them. A healthy pipeline is not built from one big push; it comes from steady, consistent effort.

7.  What’s a decision you made in the last year that had a bigger impact than you expected, and what led you to make it?:

One decision that had a bigger impact than expected was focusing more on practical, customer-centered messaging. We wanted our marketing to reflect the real conversations happening in transportation, not just what sounded good from a tech perspective. A lot of tech-driven companies have talented technical writers, but that can sometimes lead to stuffy, overbearing copy that only certain people connect with. We want our marketing and online copy to feel relatable and easy to understand right away. That shift helped us better connect our products to the everyday challenges carriers, dispatchers, safety teams and drivers are facing.

8.  What’s one process you streamlined that made a noticeable difference in efficiency or results?

Although we’ve always focused on this, as of late we’ve really focused on streamlining how we organize and communicate product information internally and externally. As Spotter AI continued adding tools like Spotter TMS, Sentinel, Spotter Lens, Load Spotter and the Driver App, it became important to keep messaging clear and consistent. Creating a more organized approach, while keeping things simple has helped our team move faster and made it easier to explain each product’s value to customers.

9. What book, podcast, or resource has influenced your thinking or business decisions lately and why?

Lately, I have been most influenced by listening directly to customers and industry conversations. I’m always reading industry and truck blogs and magazines to help stay fully engaged with trends and news around the country (and globe). If I could think of a book to recommend, I would say Think Again by Adam Grant is a good one. While not a business type book, I believe marketing execs and entrepreneurs should always be learning and understanding personal growth opportunities to thrive in today’s noisy world.
