Have been ordering from them for several years now. We live in CA so have never been to their store. Because they carry non-dairy chocolate, I can safely provide my observant guests some sweets with their meat meals.

I just received my non-dairy chocolate turkey for Thanksgiving several days early (thanks!) and was helped with tracking the shipment by David (who seems to live there). Everyone is very helpful in my experience and the turkey was packed perfectly for the journey to CA.
I will continue ordering from them with complete confidence.

Just dropped by this candy store for the first time in years and its much better than I remember. The selection is vast and varied and everything I tried was great.

I wanna give special mention to the very helpful employee who helped me out on my visit; Sam! She was what the old-school candy shop experience is all about. She was super friendly, had an incredibly sunny disposition, and all her suggestions were spot-on. Plus, as an added bonus she custom designed my order in a fantastic little gift wrapped package! Great experience made all the better by the staff. Will definitely be back soon.

I have to say in the past couple of years the customer service at Illinois Nut & Candy has greatly improved. Whenever I call the ladies all sound happy and fun. They never have a problem answering questions for me. They came up with the cutest personalized baby shower favor for me, and always deliver my candy on time. Everything always tastes great, the chocolate and nuts are always fresh, and I get compliments from my guests whenever I have a party tray from them. They wrap everything to look appealing and I am always happy to have them for my party and daily needs. This shop is a little gem and I hope it never changes.

YUMMY would best describe my experience with Illinois Nut & Candy. David, the owner, is always at the front of the store helping clients with their orders. I often buy chocolates and flavored popcorn for clients and referral partners as a token of my appreciation. They have a huge selection and even cater to those with food allergies and diet restrictions. David gives back to the community through his annual Lifesource blood drive. As soon as I entered this cutesy little candy shop, I was in love. It reminded me of a real, old-time candy store–the decor was absolutely perfect and just made me feel so happy!!! I’m not sure what’s my favorite part of the store, because there are so many aspects – the fun vibes, the kitschy decor, the very fresh candy, the cheery expressions (“Have a sweet day!” and “Can we have your autograph?” when they ask you to sign for credit cards), or the helpful employees….the girl behind the counter was so cheerful and patient with me, even with my three complicated orders for three separate candy platters with different candy in each one. She made sure to stuff the candy to the brim (“so it looks better,” she advised – a tip which I was very happy to hear!!), and wrapped the platters so beautifully with three different gift bows.
However, the cherry on top was the owner, David. I needed a small box for a separate gift I was giving my hostess (in addition to the candy), and my fiance recommended I ask if they had any small boxes there. At first the girls behind the counter weren’t sure, but then David stepped in. Bringing us to the side of the store, he not only found us a beautiful little polka dotted gray-and-black box, and not only gave me an option of gray or black ribbon, and not only wrapped my gift all up for me, but he did the whole thing as a courtesy, and didn’t let me pay him!!! I was so overwhelmed by his kindness and the time he took to help my fiance and I with our orders and with this extra gift. David even spent time — while all the other customers were there! — to show me some of the posters and photos on the wall that I was curious about (He was interviewed by several magazines and TV stations!)
David himself is a pleasure to speak with and a fascinating character, and if you’re in Skokie ever, pay a visit to Illinois Nut!!! You’ll be happy you did!! I loved my experience here.

Shocked to see any negative reviews of Ill. Nut and Candy! I have shopped and worked with David (owner) for many years; his staff is always welcoming, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra bit to make my visits there a great experience. Not only is the candy great, the store is like an old time candy store, the staff welcoming,and helpful, but also David clearly welcomes all walks of life to his staff. I can not express enough how great my experience was with Illinois Nut and David who I worked with from the begining of all of this. I had seen their Wizard of Oz candy bar on TLC’s Four weddings. My dream baby shower was to have a Wizard of Oz theme and I thought this would be a great thank you favor for people to take some candy home with them. When I initially called it was way out of our budget. David worked with me on the budget and figured out how we could save in different areas and still keep everything to look just as beautiful and how I imagined it. The end product was more than what I had even hoped for. Everyone at my baby shower was blown away and couldn’t stop taking pictures and even more importantly, were amazed at how great everything tasted! Even the yellow brick road was edible chocolate! I really appreciated David going out of his way to deliver and set up for me. He was not only on time…he was early.Super professional, and I am so greatful that he was able to make my special event that much greater. It really was a huge hit and I would reccomend him and his team to anyone!

Best customer service ever! – I was looking for corporate gifts but David couldn’t supply what I originally requested on my organization’s tight schedule. But the morning after my phone call to Illinois Nut & Candy, he visited my office with samples and recommendations for a custom gift that FAR surpassed my expectations and delighted every recipient. The custom foil printed box lid impeccably reproduced our logo detail, and the custom molded chocolates inside were the icing on the cake.
